Keene State Upcoming Schedule: February 11-17

KEENE, N.H. - Women's basketball will wrap up their season, the indoor track and field teams will head to Plymouth for the LEC Championships, and men's basketball has a huge Saturday home game as February continues for the Keene State College athletic teams.

Women's Basketball

The women's basketball team will step out of conference play for their final road game of the season on Monday when they visit Fitchburg State University on February 11 at 5:30 p.m.  KSC will then host Eastern Connecticut State University in their season finale on Saturday, February 16.  Tip-off is at 1:00 p.m., and the Owls will honor senior guard Emily McPadden (Tyngsborough, Mass.) before the game.  She currently has 205 made three-pointers in her career, good for sixth on the women's basketball all-time list.  McPadden has a chance to move up the list if she makes at least six threes this week.

Indoor Track and Field

Both indoor track and field squads will travel to Plymouth, N.H. for the Little East Conference Championships on Saturday, February 16.  The University of Southern Maine has won the last four men's LEC Indoor Track and Field titles, while their women's team has won the conference every year since 2001.  KSC's Jared Hannon won the long jump in both 2016 and 2017, while Brittany Gravallese took the 800 meter run last year.

Men's Basketball

The men's basketball team, winners of nine games in a row for the first time since the 2011-12 season, have a bye Wednesday and only one game this week, but it is a huge one.  The Owls will entertain Eastern Connecticut on Saturday, February 16.  Tip-off at Spaulding Gymnasium is set for 3:00 p.m., and fans are encouraged to wear red.  With a Senior Day win, Keene State can finish with the Little East's No. 1 seed and host the semifinals and finals of the conference tournament for the first time since 2006.  The team will honor the program's all-time leading scorer Ty Nichols (Springfield, Mass.), Charles McClain (Naugatuck, Conn.), Kyle Santoro (Poughkeepsie, N.Y.), and Josh DeGrenier (Jaffrey, N.H.) before the game.  KSC was 10th in the initial Northeast Regional Rankings that were released last week.  The next poll is scheduled to be released Wednesday, February 13.
