Brigid Casey Named LEC Rookie Of The Year; Tess Masci Picks Up All-LEC Second Team Honors

PAWTUCKET, R.I. - The Keene State women's lacrosse team had one major award winner, and another student-athlete named to the LEC Second Team, the conference office announced Thursday. Brigid Casey was named LEC Rookie of the Year and to the All-LEC First Team, while Tess Masci was named to the All-LEC Second Team.

From Mont Vernon, N.H., Casey was named the LEC Rookie of the Year and First Team All-LEC after her fantastic freshman campaign. She became the third KSC women's lacrosse player in school history to receive ROY honors, as Michelle Mason (2002) and Jenna Bellano (2014) previously won. Casey led the Owls in points (77) and goals (55), and her single season points mark ranks 10th all-time in KSC history and her goals mark ranks seventh. Casey also set the single-season KSC record in draw controls with 97. That mark beat Tori Weinstock's 90 from just a year ago in 2018.  Casey finished the year third in the Little East Conference in goals and first in draw controls.

Junior Tess Masci, (Hopkinton, N.H.) was named to the LEC Second Team due to her all around play for the Owls this year. Masci finished the season with 15 goals and nine assists, also led the team with 28 caused turnovers. The junior also scooped up 29 ground balls and finished with 46 draw controls.
