Fodor Headed To NCAA Outdoor National Championships

KEENE, N.H.--Keene State College freshman Joey Fodor has qualified for the 2019 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships, it was announced today.   The championships take place from May 23-25 at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio, and are hosted by the University of Mount Union and the Greater Cleveland Sports Commission.

Fodor, a native of Berlin, N.H., is seeded 16th in the javelin with a season best throw of 59.74 meters.  He achieved that mark at the Little East Conference championships on April 27.   The field for the javelin is highly competitive this season, with a mere 1.03 meters separating seeds 7-16.

The preliminaries and final of the javelin throw are scheduled for Thursday, May 23, at 5:15 p.m.    The top eight finishers in the final will receive All-America Honors.

Fodor is the first KSC javelin thrower to qualify for the NCAA championships since Glenn Guilmette '13, who earned All-America honors in the event in 2011 and 2012.
