KEENE, N.H. 9/15/08 - Keene State College was well represented in this week's list of Little East Conference honors with six Owl athletes earning recognition in their respective sports.
LITTLE EAST CONFERENCE HONORS
Women's Volleyball
Offensive
Player of the Week
Jordan Porkyfki (Wasilla, Alaska), Junior, Setter, Keene
State College
Porkyfki ran the Keene State College offense, leading the Owls to a
4-1 week and the Johnson and Wales Tournament Championship. The
junior setter was named the most valuable player of the tournament
as Keene State posted victories over Springfield, Johnson &
Wales, and Connecticut College. Porkyfki was credited with 40-plus
assists against the Pride (48) and Wildcats (43), while logging 35
against Bridgewater State and 23 against the Camels. Earlier in the
week, she had 25 assists and 3 digs against Westfield.
Rookie of the
Week
Bridget O'Bryant (Merimack, N.H.), Freshman, Middle
Blocker, Keene State College
O'Bryant helped lead Keene State College to an overall record of
4-1 this past week, including the Johnson and Wales Tournament
title. She registered at least 11 kills in three of the five
matches, including a season-high 18 winners against Springfield
College. O'Bryant also recorded a season-high 10 digs against
Connecticut College.

Player of the Week
Kendra Spencer (Poteskey, Mich.), Junior, Midfielder,
Keene State College
Spencer scored the decisive goal in each of Keene State College's
victories this past week. The junior midfielder registered the
game-winner in the closing minutes against Smith College, while
netting the third goal in a 5-2 win against Framingham State. She
is currently tied for second on the club in goals (3) and points
(6).

Offensive Player of the
Week
Erin Dallas (Marlow, N.H.), Junior, Midfielder, Keene State
College
Dallas led Keene State College to a 3-0 mark this past week,
scoring 10 points on four goals and two assists. The Marlow, N.H.
product registered at least a point in all three games, including a
season-high seven points-a hat trick and helper-against Western New
England on Sept. 11. Two days later, she tallied her fourth goal of
the campaign against Little East rival Eastern Connecticut as the
Owls posted an 8-0 victory. Earlier in the week, Dallas recorded a
helper on the game-winning goal at No. 12 Springfield College as
Keene State rallied for a 2-1 non-conference win. She ranks among
the conference leaders in assists (1st, 3), goals (5th, 4) and
points (5th, 11).
Defensive Player
of the Week
Alyssa Rowell (Queensbury, N.Y.), Senior, Back, Keene State
College
Rowell spearheaded a Keene State College defense that allowed just
a pair of goals in three games this week, including a 2-1 upset win
over No. 12 Springfield College. She made a defensive save to help
the Owls limit the Pride to three goals below their season average.
Keene State notched its second shutout of the campaign against
Little East foe Eastern Connecticut this past weekend. Rowell also
contributed offensively with seven points.

Players of the Week
Alex Horne (Harvard, Mass.), Senior, Forward, Keene State
College
Horne led the offensive charge for Keene State College with six
points as the Owls posted a 1-0-1 mark on the week. On Sept. 11,
the senior striker from Harvard, Mass. set up the game-winning goal
at Springfield College, while adding an insurance marker in the
79th minute to seal the 3-1 victory. Horne repeated his three-point
performance two days later against Wheaton College, the
fifth-ranked club in the latest NCSAA New England rankings. He
converted off a penalty kick in the 71st minute for his
conference-leading fifth marker of the campaign, but the Lyons
netted the equalizer less than two minutes later as the squads
battled to a 2-2 draw.
