Sophomore Kyle Shadeck was named the Keene State Athlete of the Week, after a dominant performance at the 2018 New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association (NEISDA) Championships on Saturday. From Chesire, Conn., Shadeck finished the 200 fly in 1:49.18, breaking the meet record set by Keene State's Drew Ledwith in 2012, as well as the previous school record of 1:51.41 set by Cole Hogg in 2015. The time, currently the 12th best in the country, also represents an NCAA B-Cut for qualification to the NCAA Division III Championships, held from March 21-24 in Indianapolis. Shadeck also won the 400 IM in 4:00.85, just off the school record of 3:59.16 set by Drew Ledwith in 2012, and was second in the 200 IM in 1:53.64, the third fastest time in school history.
