Ferenc, Ketterman Earn Weekly LEC Honors

N. Dartmouth, Mass. 10/1/11 – Keene State College senior Alyce Ferenc (field hockey) and freshman Michael Ketterman (men's soccer) were named defensive and rookie of the week respectively as announced by the league office Monday afternoon.

Field Hockey Defensive Player of the Week
Alyce Ferenc (Rumney, N.H.), Senior, Midfielder, Keene State College
Ferenc anchored a Keene State defensive unit that posted a 0.50 goals against average this past week and led the Owls to a 2-0 mark. The senior from Rumney, N.H. and her teammates became the first squad to hold Plymouth State scoreless, when Keene State limited the Panthers to four goals below their season average. Ferenc also registered the game-winning goal against her intra-state rival. On Oct. 1, the Owls held Western Connecticut to just six shots on net in a 5-1 victory.

Men's Soccer Rookie of the Week
Michael Ketterman (Monson, Mass.), Freshman, Goalkeeper, Keene State College
Ketterman posted a 0.50 goals against average and .909 save percentage to help Keene State sport a 1-1 mark on the week. The freshman from Monson, Mass. matched his season-high in saves (6) and posted his first collegiate shutout against Little East rival Plymouth State on Oct. 1. Earlier in the week, he stopped four of the five attempts he faced against Babson College.
