Bruno Picks Up NFHCA All-Region Honors

CHANDLER, Ariz.--Keene State College freshman forward Nina Bruno has been named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-New England West Second Team, it was announced today.

The honor is the latest in a string of plaudits for Bruno, who was named the Little East Conference Rookie of the Year, LEC Tournament Most Outstanding Player, and First Team All-Conference.  The native of Agawam, Mass., Bruno started all 23 games for the Owls, scoring 23 goals and assisting on seven more.   The 23 goals are tied for the fifth most in a single season, while the 53 points are the sixth most.  Bruno, who was named the Most Outstanding Player of the Little East Conference tournament, had four hat-tricks this season, against Framingham State (September 7), Bridgewater State (October 7), Bridgewater State again (October 28), and Westfield State (November 4).  She netted the game winning goal in six of Keene State's 14 wins this year, and was also named the the First Team All-LEC.
