Swenson and Arsenault Earn LEC Honors

'KEENE, N.H. 11/25/02– Keene State College's Derek Swenson and Andrea Arsenault have been selected to the initial Little East Conference men's and women's basketball honor roll of the season respectively.

Swenson, a senior guard from Attleboro, MA., was selected as the MVP of the Keene State Tip off Tournament after averaging 15 points, 2.5 assists, and 3.5 steals in the Owls' victories over Castleton State (112-84) and Curry College (82-46).  He had 19 points, hitting 7-of-10 from the field, against Castleton.

Arsenault, an All-Tournament selection in the Hunter College Tournament over the weekend, averaged 17 points, 6.5 rebounds and 2 steals as KSC defeated FDU-Florham (882-68) and lost to Hunter (84-67) in the championship. The junior forward from Dover, N.H., had 21 points and 8 rebounds in the title game.

Both KSC basketball teams will be in action on Tuesday.  The Owl women (1-1) play their home opener against MA College while the KSC men (2-0) are on the road at Endicott College.
