Anozie Tabbed LEC Rookie of the Week

PAWTUCKET, R.I. - Freshman center James Anozie of the Keene State men's baskeball program was tabbed the Little East Conference (LEC) Rookie of the Week, following outstanding performances against Albertus Magnus and the University of Southern Maine, as the Owls cruised to their sixth consecutive win. 

Anozie, from Poughkeepsie, N.Y., was a force inside the paint on both ends in two victories for Keene State, averaging 13.0 points per game on 63.6 percent shooting and 7.5 rebounds per game. In a victory over the Falcons, Anozie went five-of-eight from the floor for 12 points and grabbed six rebounds, before just missing a double-double against the Huskies, as the rookie scored in double-digits for the second straight game with 14 points and pulled down nine rebounds with one steal. 

The Owls are off for the semester break and will return to action on Friday, December 29th against LaGrange at the Music City Classic in Nashville, Tenn. with tip-off at 8:00 p.m.
