Owls finish Spring Break trip with 12-10 loss to Hamilton

CLERMONT, Fla. – The Keene State College Owls wrapped up their trip to Florida with a 12-10 loss to NESCAC opponent Hamilton College. The Owls fall to 1-5 on the season, but almost every one of their first six game have come against nationally ranked opponents.

Hamilton picks up their first win of their Florida trip and improves to 3-5 on the season.

The Owls had a well-balanced attack, led by hat tricks from junior defender Kevin Carey and sophomore attacker Tyler McKelvie. The three goals bring McKelvie's total to 25 this year.

The tallies were Carey's first of the season. He found the back of the net nine times last season.

Keene State had a handful of players find their way to the score sheet. Junior Ryan Hart had two goals and freshmen Rob Hart and Tyler Reilly both had a goal and two assists to round out the KSC offense.

Junior defender Zack Tulley forced three turnovers and freshman Bryan Rotatori scooped up six groundballs.

Sophomore keeper Dylan Florian had another strong day in the cage, stopping 14 Hamilton shots.

The Owls return to the Northeast to take on Bates Wednesday at 5:00 PM.

Coincidentally, Hamilton's next opponent is also Bates, though their game won't come until Saturday and will be played at noon at home.
