Lombardo, Timson Earn LEC Honors

KEENE, N.H. 10/22/01 - For the fourth time this season Keene State College's Jason Lombardo has been selected as the Little East Conference men's soccer rookie of the week.

Despite being hampered with a pulled hamstring, Lombardo, a freshman from Woburn, MA., scored the lone goal in a 1-0 win over nationally ranked Amherst College and added an assist in a 2-1 triumph over UMA-Dartmouth.

Lombardo leads the LEC and Owls (13-3) in scoring with 11 goals, three assists for 25 points.

Junior forward Annie Timson was selected to the LEC field hockey honor roll. The Derry, N.H., native scored a goal in each of KSC's three wins last week including game-winners against Westfield State and UMA-Dartmouth. She has team-high 10 goals for Keene State.

The Owls (9-8) host Worcester State in a LEC Tournament quarterfinal game on Tuesday (6:30 p.m.).
