PAWTUCKET, R.I. - Seniors William Salta and Conor Leahy picked up Little East Conference (LEC) postseason honors, the conference office announced today. Salta and Leahy were key components in the Owls' first LEC Tournament appearance since 2014.
Salta, from Laconia, N.H., was named to the First Team All-Conference for the first time in his career, after garnering Second Team All-Conference honors in his first year with the Owls. After starting the season off in the back line, Salta moved into the forward position and made an immediate impact. A force on the front line, Salta finished the season tied for a team-high six goals and added two assists. Starting in all 16 games he appeared in, the senior scored in five-straight games and had a career-high three points with one goal and one assist in a matchup against Western New England.
In his final season with the Owls, Leahy was recognized as a Second Team All-Conference honoree. From Beverly, Mass., Leahy started in 13 of the 14 games he appeared in and was a stalwart in the midfield, scoring one goal against Roger Williams with one assist against Wheaton.
