KEENE, N.H.--After a couple of days on the waiting list, Keene State College sophomore Kyle Shadeck got the good news on Thursday night; he will be going to the NCAA Division III Championships in Indianapolis, Indiana, from March 21-24.
Shadeck will be competing in the 200 butterfly, and his qualification marks the ninth straight year a member of the Keene State men's swim team has qualified for the NCAA championships. Shadeck hit a B-cut qualification time of 1:49.18, setting a new school, meet, and pool record on February 18 at the New England Intercollegiate Swimming and Diving Association Championships at the University of Rhode Island. The top 16 times in the country qualify automatically, and Shadeck's time had been 17th, leaving him as an alternate for the meet. But after waiting to see how the final lists shook out, Shadeck found himself on the list and heading for Indianapolis.
