Castor Breaks School Mark In 200 Meter Dash

BOSTON, Mass.--Brandon Castor broke a 19 year old school record in the 200 meter dash as the Keene State College track and field teams spread out throughout the Boston area, competing at the Branwen Smith-King Invitational at Tufts University and the John Thomas Terrier Classic at Boston University on Saturday.

Men's Highlights

Castor ran the 200 meter in 22.92, clipping the previous mark by .03 seconds.  Matt Zaffini had held the previous mark of 22.95, set in 2000.  Castor qualified for the New England Division III championships with that time.

Women's Highlights

Nicole De Almeida posted a New England Division III qualifying time in the 500 meters in 1:20.64, which will take her to the NEDIII in the 600 meter run.   Lauren Perkowski ran the 5,000 meters in 17:19.41, which is a New England Division III and Open New England qualifying time, as well as currently ranked eighth in the nation.

Laura Dawson hit qualifying marks for NEDIII in the 1,000 meters in 3:05.19, and Amanda Deppert hit a PR in the 60 meter dash in in 8.17 seconds.
