Hoyt and Fitter earn LEC Track Honors

KEENE, N.H. 5/21/12 - Keene State's Kevin Hoyt (Newton, Conn.) and Maggie Fitter (Branford, Conn.) were named Little East Conference men's and women's track athletes of the week respectively on Monday.

Men’s Track Athlete of the Week
 

Kevin Hoyt (Newtown, Conn.), Senior, Keene State College

Hoyt earned All-Eastern College Athletic Conference honors this past week in the 5,000-meter run. The senior from Newtown, Conn. recorded an outdoor personal record as he was the third student-athlete to cross the finish line in a time of 14 minutes, 42.16 seconds.

Womens’ Track Athlete of the Week

Maggie Fitter (Branford, Conn.), Junior, Keene State College

Fitter captured the 800-meter run this past week at the annual Eastern College Athletic Conference Championship in Troy, N.Y. The junior from Branford, Conn. stood atop the awards podium with a time of two minutes, 12.31 seconds. She advanced to the 2012 NCAA Division III Championship with the 14th fastest time in the country.
