Napolitano steps down as sports information assistant; will remain head throws coach at Keene State
KEENE, N.H. 6/21/12 - John Napolitano has decided to step down as a sports information assistant in the Keene State marketing and communications department, but will continue to be the head throws coach at the College.
Napolitano, a 2008 Keene State grad, played a major role as sports information assistant the past three years. He helped redesign the Owl athletic web page, designed games programs and coordinated the student-worker staff as well handle game-day responsibilities.
Napolitano will be entering his fourth season as the throws coach at Keene State after taking over for Darcy Wilson in 2009. In his short tenure, Napolitano has guided his Owl throwers to six All-American honors. This past spring junior Glenn Guilmette earned his second consecutive All-America honor in the javelin, placing fourth in the event with a school record and personal best toss of 217'-09" at Claremont Mudd Scripps College. Napolitano also played a major role in the development of Bryan Kolacz, who completed his KSC career as a five time All-American, winning the honor three times outdoors in the hammer, including the 2009 National Championship, and twice indoors in the weight throw.
A native of Providence, Napolitano was a former All-Little East Conference performer in the hammer, discus and 35-lb weight.
