Keene State Adds Three Assistant Coaches
'KEENE, N.H. 2/13/07 - Keene State College has announced the addition of three assistant coaches to its athletic staff.
Erica Morse will join the KSC women's lacrosse team and Wilson Perez and Breanne Lucey have been named assistants on the Owl track team.
A member of the first varsity lacrosse team at Keene State, Morse has spent the past two seasons as the head field hockey and assistant lacrosse coach at Keene High School. She previously worked four years at Wakefield (Mass.) High, building the women's lacrosse team into a varsity program.
"I'm really excited about returning to Keene State," said Morse. "It's wonderful to see how the program has grown since I left in 2000."
Morse, who used a wooden stick at the time, played three seasons for the Owls (1998-2000). She finished her career with 69 goals, 18 assists, and 87 points.
Morse, a Walpole, New Hampshire, native, will be reunited with Amy Watson on the Owls' coaching staff. Watson, the first varsity coach at Keene State, will serve as an associate coach for the Owls' lacrosse team. She'll help Head Coach Michelle Mason make the transition into the coaching ranks.
Perez and Lucey are no strangers to the Owl track program. Perez, originally from Newmarket, New Hampshire, was a three-time cross-country All-American and a five-time track All-American for Keene State. He finished second in the 5,000-meter race at the NCAA indoor championships as a sophomore and second in the 10,000 at the outdoor national meet as a senior.
Lucey is a two-time national champ and five-time All-American for the Owls. Last year, the Keene native was the national indoor 800-meter indoor champion and member of KSC's championship DMR squad. In the spring, Lucey earned All-America honors in the 1,500 and 5,000. Last fall, she garnered her first cross-country All-America honor. Lucey plans to compete for the Owl cross country and soccer team this fall.
