Women's Basketball Tabbed For Sixth In LEC Preseason Poll

PAWTUCKET, R.I.--The Keene State College women's basketball team was picked to finish sixth in the league, according to a poll of the league's coaches released today.

The Owls received 23 points to finish in a tie with Rhode Island College for sixth place.

Defending regular season champion UMass Dartmouth was picked first, with five first place votes and 60 points, while tournament champion UMass Boston received 55 points and two first place votes.  Southern Maine (50 points) and Eastern Connecticut State (48 points) received the other two first place votes.

The Owls return senior guard Emily McPadden (10.3 ppg, 4.5 rpg), All-LEC Rookie sophomore guard Lilly Shlimon (9.3 ppg), and junior forward Kenzie Bennett (6.8 ppg, 6.0 rpg).  KSC opens the season against Anna Maria in the KSC Tip-Off Tournament on November 9 at 3:30 p.m.
