Five From Women's Lacrosse Earn All-Conference Recognition

PAWTUCKET, R.I. - Five student-athletes from the Keene State women's lacrosse program were named to Little East Conference (LEC) All-Conference teams, it was announced today by the league office. 

Junior midfielder Taylor Farland garnered First Team All-LEC recognition. After earning Second Team All-Conference honors during her sophomore season, Farland produced an impressive junior campaign, finishing with a team-high 43 goals and 16 assists for 59 points. The midfielder also added a team-high 54 ground balls, 52 draw controls and forced 25 caused turnovers.

Sophomore attack Chelsea Lewis, junior midfielder Tori Weinstock, senior defender Amanda Makar and junior defender Tara Kilderry were named to the All-LEC Second Team. 

In her rookie season with Keene State, Lewis made an immediate impact on offense. The sophomore finished second of the team with 38 goals, scoring in every game except three, and added 10 helpers with 28 draw controls.

A stalwart in the midfield, Weinstock contributed both offensively and defensively, as the junior registered 21 goals, four assists, 38 ground balls, 28 caused turnovers and was second on the team with 49 draw controls.  

Makar was key on the backline for the Owls, as the senior tallied a team second-best 33 caused turnovers and 35 ground balls, while Kilderry was an essential part of the Keene State defense and produced a record-breaking season. The junior broke the Keene State single season record for caused turnovers with 45 and picked up a team-high 56 ground balls, while adding two goals and 14 draw controls.
