Track and Field Soars at Gordon Kelly, Valentine Invitationals

BOSTON, Mass.--The Keene State College track and field team spread out throughout Boston and picked up several strong performances at both the Gordon Kelly Invitational at MIT and the Valentine Invitational at Boston University.

Women's Highlights

Lauren Perkowski ran a New England Alliance and Little East Conference performance-leading time of 10:05.27 at 3,000 meters which currently ranks her 22nd nationally in that event.  Perkowski is also currently ranked 16th nationally at 5,000 meters.

Lynne Hebert moved up to 2nd in the Little East Conference rankings at 1,000 meters with a personal best of 3:06.02. Hebert's time qualifies her for the New England Division III Championship at 1000 meters.

Nicole De Almeida qualified for the New England Division III regional championship in the 600 meters by running a personal best at 500 meters of 1:19.44.  This performance ranks her 2nd in the LEC for the season in the 600m/500m distances.

In the 200 meter dash, De Almeida and Amanda Deppert both were within 0.26 seconds of the Keene State College 200m dash indoor record by running 26.99 and 26.95 respectively.

Laura Dawson took third in the 800m with a New England Division III qualifying time of 2:25.59 followed closely by Brittany Gravallese in 4thalso achieving the NED3 standard with a time of 2:26.75. 

Skyler Gauthier qualified for the New England Division III championship in the 60 meter hurdles placing 3rd with a personal best time of 9.69.  Alexis Gauthier also met the post-season standard for NED3 in the hurdles placing fifth in personal-best time of 9.71.  Taylor Bisaillon placed 5th in the 600 meter run with a season best of 1:47.78.

The team of Skyler Gauthier, Bisaillon, Alexis Gauthier, and Gravallese placed second in the 4x400m relay with a time of 4:19.32.

Men's Highlights

Clinton Mungeta won the 400 meter dash in 52.19 followed by teammate Jared Hannon in second place with a time of 52.99.  Mungeta also teamed up with Alex MedinaBrandon Castor, and Anthony Jennings to win the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:31.87.

Hannon took second place in the long jump with a jump of 6.46 meters.  Iid Sheikh-Yusuf ran a season best of 9:15.12 to place second in the 3000 meter run.  Angel Ramirez placed second in the 200 meter dash with a time of 23.70.  Robby St. Laurent placed third in the 800 meters with a time of 2:03.61 followed closely by Tyler DeChane in fourth at 2:03.69.
