Two Owls Post NCAA Track Qualifying Marks
KEENE, N.H. 4/26/08 - Several Keene State track athletes returned form the road with NCAA Division III Championship qualifying marks this week.
Competing at the Larry Ellis Invitational at Princeton University last Friday, senior Jennifer Adams (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) posted an NCAA automatic qualifying time (16:56.03) with her fifth place finish in the 5,000-meter race.
Heading to the Penn Relays in Philadelphia on Thursday, Adams got her qualifying time in the 10,000-meters (35:03.33) with her fifth place finish. Adams, an eight-time All-American at KSC, was the national indoor champion in the 5K this winter.
Senior Crystal Blamy (Walpole, N.H.) will also get a chance to earn an outdoor national championship in the high jump to go with her indoor title. Blamy posted an NCAA qualifying mark of 5-feet, seven-inches at the Penn Relays.
Freshman Craig MacPherson (Derry, N.H.) also posted an NCAA provisional qualifying time in the 1,500-meter race at Princeton. He clocked a time of 3:52.31 to place 28th in the race. MacPherson, who earned All-America in the indoor mile, is currently ranked fourth nationally in the event.
