CAMBRIDGE, Mass. - The Keene State men's and women's track and field programs competed on Tuesday and Wednesday at two different sites for the final time before the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships.
Senior Katelyn Terry and the women's 4x400 meter relay team raced in the MIT Last Chance Qualifier on Thursday at the Sherie and Don Morrison Track at Steinbrenner Stadium, while sophomore Jared Hannon and junior Dominique Pascoal took part in the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Track and Field Championships on Wednesday and Thursday in Westfield, Mass, hosted by Westfield State.
MIT Last Chance Qualifier
- After a strong start to the race, K. Terry finished fifth overall in the 800 meter run in a time of 2:11.87, which is the second fastest mark in her career thus far. The senior will wait to see if her personal best time of 2:11.67 has qualified her for one of the 22 spots in the NCAA Division III Championships occuring at the University of Mount Union during May 25th-27th, as the qualifying list will be released later this week.
- The 4x400 meter relay team of K. Terry, senior Lindsey Terry, sophomore Brittany Gravallese, and freshman Nicole De Almeida combined for the second fastest 4x400 relay in Keene State history, as the quartet crossed the finish line in a time of 3:56.71.
- Hannon capped off a standout sophomore campaign with a third place finish in the long jump, as he registered a mark of 6.85 meters to earn All-ECAC honors.
- In the javelin, Pascoal produced an impressive performance, as the junior garnered All-ECAC honors with a throw of 36.85 meters for fourth place.
