NORTHAMPTON, Mass.--Taylor Bisaillon won the 600 meter run and Jared Hannon won the long jump as the Keene State College indoor track and field team open the 2017-18 season at the non-scoring Smith Invitational at the Indoor Track and Tennis Facility on Saturday.
Bisaillon took the 600 meters in 1:48.52, crossing the line just in front of teammate Alexandria Papadimoulis, who finished second in 1:49.08. Freshman Christina Martin added a fourth place finish in the 800 meters in 2:38.11, while Melissa Wydra took sixth in the weight throw with a toss of 10.76 meters.
Haleigh Therrien marked her collegiate debut with a fourth place finish in the shot put, also throwing 10.76 meters, while Alexis Cooke was sixth in the long jump with a leap of 4.66 meters. Lynne Hebert was third in the mile, in 5:35.12.
Hannon won the long jump, bounding 6.63 meters, and also took second in the 200 meter dash in 23.56. Tyler DeChane picked up a third place nod in the 3,000 meters, in 9:25.78, as did Ian Connell in the mile in 4:36.68, and Alex Medina did so in the 600 meters in 1:31.84.
The Keene State 'A' relay team won the 4x400 meter relay in 3:37.26, made up of Hannon, Anthony Jennings, Brandon Castor, and Clinton Mungeta.
The Owls will have one more meet before the holiday break, heading to Rhode Island College on December 9.
