Bunker Repeats as LEC Defensive Player of the Year; Wilson and Dodd Also Honored

PAWTUCKET, R.I.--Senior libero Riley Bunker has been named as the Little East Conference Defensive Player of the Year for the second consecutive season, while teammates Bailey Wilson and Niamh Dodd also received All-Conference recognition, the league office announced today.

Bunker (Simi Valley, Calif.) concluded her career as one of the greatest defensive players in school history.  The 2017 LEC Defensive Player of the Year, Bunker set a new KSC mark for career digs with 2,035, breaking the record against Rivier on October 18.   She ended the year as one of 14 action players with over 2,000 career digs.     She also finished in the top five all-time in school history in service aces, with 199.  Bunker was named as the LEC Defensive Player of the Week five times this season. 

Wilson (Moorpark, Calif.) joined Bunker on the First Team All-Conference.   The sophomore setter finished the season with 956 assists in 31 matches, and needs just 107 to reach the 2,000 assist mark for her career.  Senior middle blocker Niamh Dodd (Mahopac, N.Y.) was named to the Second Team All-Conference.  Dodd led from the front this season, recording 62 total blocks and a career high 216 kills this season.
