KEENE, N.H.--Freshman Christina Martin led the way with an 11th place finish as the Keene State College women's cross country team finished in sixth place at the Little East Conference cross country championships at Owl Athletic Complex on Saturday morning.
Martin crossed the finish line in 20:22 in her first appearance at the LEC Cross Country championships. She was followed by Brittany Gravellese, who finished in 18th place in 20:40, and Alana Olendorf, who was in 21st place in 20:56. Emily Jarka was in 24th place in 21:10, while Laura Dawson was in 21:16 for 29th place.
Other Owl runners included Lynne Hebert, who was 38th overall in 21:41, and Mila Barrera, who was 39th in 21:52. Lauren Perkowski (45th, 22:19), Abby Touchet (22:21), Emily Ehrenstein (51st, 22:42), Emma Brown (53rd, 22:59), and Alexis Cooke (59th, 23:42) rounded out the Owl contingent.
Eastern Connecticut State took home the team championship, while Rhode Island College's Shayna Cousineau won individual medalist honors in 19:20 on the 5K course.
The Owls will continue their season at the NCAA Regional race on November 11 in Gorham, Maine.
