KEENE, N.H.--Student-athletes from the Keene State College women's soccer, volleyball, and women's swimming and diving programs have earned weekly awards from the Little East Conference, it was announced today.
Freshman goalkeeper Shelby Offird has been named Women's Soccer Rookie of the Week. From Shelton, Conn., Offord totaled eight saves while recording her first career point in a 1-1-0 week in goal for the Owls. She totaled four saves while assisting on a goal in a 7-2 LEC win over Rhode Island College, and added four more stops in a non-conference contest against Bridgewater State.
Freshman setter Bailey Wilson was named LEC Rookie of the Week for the fourth time this season after averaging 9.50 assists and 1.80 digs per set in a 2-1 week for the Owls. The Moorpark, Calif., native registered 40 assists in a 3-1 LEC win over Rhode Island College and 25 assists with five digs in a 3-0 non-conference win over MCLA. Wilson totaled 30 assists and 10 digs against UMass Boston.
Senior Hope Walsh was named LEC Swimmer of the Week. A winner in three events, Walsh helped lead the Owls to victories over Colby Sawyer, and NCAA Division II Franklin Pierce and Saint Michael's in a quad meet Saturday. She won the 500 freestyle (5:21.37) and 1,000 free (11:01.07) for her individual events, and was a member of the winning 400 freestyle relay (3:49.85). Walsh, who hails from Hamden, Mass. was additionally a member of the fourth-place medley relay (2:00.61).
Freshman Hannah Wood was picked as the LEC Rookie Swimmer of the Week. Wood, a native of Orrington, Maine won the to help lead the Owls to victories over Colby Sawyer, and NCAA Division II Franklin Pierce and Saint Michael's in a quad meet Saturday. She won the 100 butterfly (1:04.62) and 50 freestyle (25.85), and was a member of the winning 400 free relay (3:49.85). Wood was additionally a member of the runner-up 200 medley relay (1:56.36).
