PAWTUCKET, R.I. - Brooke Arruda picked up her first LEC Player of the Week honor this past week, the conference office announced today.
Junior Brooke Arruda (Pawcatuck, Conn.) was named the LEC Player of the Week after the Owls season opening double header on March 10. Arruda went 2-3 in KSC's 6-3 season opening win over Olivet. She hit her first home run of the season in the bottom of the sixth inning to break a 3-3 tie. The two run homer turned out to be the difference as the Owls picked up the victory. In a game two slug fest, Arruda had a pinch hit RBI double in the 13-10 loss to Washington & Jefferson. The junior third baseman finished the day 3-4 with a single, double and home run. She also picked up three RBIs to go along with three runs scored.
