KEENE, N.H. - The chances to catch Keene State College athletic teams are rising as March wraps up, finishing with a Saturday in which four different teams are scheduled to be in action at Owl Athletic Complex.
KSC, in the midst of a stretch with five conference games in six days, will play a makeshift home game on Tuesday, March 26 against Plymouth State University. First pitch at Franklin Pierce University's Pappas Field in Rindge, N.H. will be at 3:30 p.m. The two teams each won at home on consecutive days last year in the season series. The Owls are then slated to be at Owl Athletic Complex on Saturday, March 30 when they welcome Eastern Connecticut State University for a Little East doubleheader beginning at 12:00 p.m.
The men's lacrosse team will step out of conference play one more time when they visit Skidmore College on Tuesday, March 26 for a 4:00 p.m. start. KSC will be looking for a measure of revenge, as the Thoroughbreds took last year's meeting 13-10 in Keene. The Owls will then take on Little East foe UMass Dartmouth at home on Saturday, March 30 at 3:00 p.m. The Owls needed a last-second goal from Paul Beling to evade the Corsairs 11-10 in last year's meeting.
Women's lacrosse makes their home debut on Wednesday, March 27 when they host Wheaton College (Mass.) at 6:00 p.m. The Owls then have their conference opener, also at Owl Athletic Complex, against Rhode Island College on Saturday, March 30. That contest is scheduled for a 12:00 p.m. start. KSC won five of seven at home last season.
Softball has three doubleheaders (six games) in a four-day span later in the week. KSC will first visit Westfield State University on Thursday, March 28 for two beginning at 3:30 p.m. before their home and conference opening twinbill against the University of Southern Maine on Saturday, March 30 at 1:00 p.m. The Owls and Huskies split a pair of one-run games last year in Gorham, Maine. A trip to Middlebury College comes the next day to wrap up March. That DH is scheduled to begin at 1:00 p.m.
Outdoor Track and Field
The outdoor track and field season continues when the men's and women's teams will head to Medford, Mass. for the Snowflake Invitational hosted by Tufts University on Saturday, March 30 at 10:00 a.m.
