PAWTUCKET, R.I. - The Keene State College field hockey team, winners of three straight, was recognized with two Little East Conference weekly awards, the conference office announced today.
Junior goalkeeper Rachel Loseby (Hartford, Vt.) was named the Goaltender of the Week after not allowing a goal in matchups against both Castleton University and Eastern Connecticut State University. In a 3-0 win over the Spartans in a Little East championship rematch, Loseby made five stops while picking up her third shutout of the season. She also made two stops in 49:09 of action in KSC's 5-0 win at ECSU this past Saturday. Overall, Loseby has a 1.69 goals against average and 58 saves over 10 games this season, all starts. Her current shutout streak stands at 2:42:22.
Also receiving honors was senior defender Ally McCall (Watertown, Mass.), who grabbed the Defensive Player of the Week honors for the first time this season. She was a key anchor of KSC's defense, which as mentioned did not surrender a goal last week. McCall, who was named NFHCA Second Team All-Region, the Little East Defensive Player of the Year, and the Little East Tournament Most Outstanding Player last season, has also been an offensive presence for the Owls, dishing out eight assists so far this season.
