Keene State Athletics Upcoming Schedule presented by C&W Services: October 21-27

KEENE, N.H. - The last full week of October has arrived, and with it come several important conference games this week for the Keene State College fall athletic teams.  Overall, there are six different home events you have a chance to catch over the next seven days, including two each on Tuesday, Wednesday and Saturday.

KSC volleyball will take on Norwich University in home non-conference action on Tuesday, October 22 at 6:00 p.m. before stepping back into league play with an important match at UMass-Boston on Saturday, October 26 at 1:00 p.m.  It will be the first meeting between the two sides since the Owls' 3-1 semifinal upset last year.  Heading down the stretch, the top five teams in the LEC are separated by just a game and a half, with Keene State entering the week in third place at 4-2.  Western Connecticut State University is also 4-2, but KSC has the head-to-head tiebreaker.  Plymouth State University is in first at 5-1, while Eastern Connecticut State University is right behind at 5-2 and has yet to play PSU.  UMass-Boston sits behind the Owls and WCSU at 3-2.

Women's Soccer

Winners of four straight, Keene State will look to keep it going this week.  The Owls entertain Salem State University on Tuesday, October 22 at 7:00 p.m. before visiting UMass-Boston, currently tied for the top spot in the conference, on Saturday, October 26 for a 6:00 p.m. start.  KSC currently sits in third place at 4-2 and with 12 points, six behind both the Beacons and Western Connecticut, who are both 6-0 (18 points).  ECSU sits in fourth at 4-3, with Castleton University and Plymouth State University each 3-3.

Field Hockey

Field hockey will look to finish the conference schedule on the right foot this week, as they play their final two LEC contests before a pair on non-conference tilts next week lead into the postseason.  KSC will host league-leading Worcester State University (9-0 in conference play) on Wednesday, October 23 at 6:30 p.m.  A visit to Framingham State University will wrap up the conference slate on Saturday, October 26.  That game is scheduled to start at 2:00 p.m.  KSC is currently third in the Little East standings at 8-2, with Worcester (9-0) and Western Connecticut (8-1) just ahead and the University of Southern Maine (7-2) and Castleton (6-3) just behind.

Men's Soccer

Winners of two in a row after three straight losses, men's soccer has two very important conference games remaining, with one coming this Saturday, October 26 (1:00 p.m.) against UMass-Boston at Dr. Ron Butcher Field.  Keene State sits in fourth place entering the week (4-2, 12 points), but is just one point behind second-place Rhode Island College (4-1-1, 13 points).  The Beacons are 3-1-1 and have 10 points.  The Owls can still finish as high as second depending on results around the league.  Before the LEC tilt, KSC will welcome the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts for a 7:00 p.m. game on Wednesday, October 23.

Swimming and Diving

The KSC swim teams will be back in their own pool this weekend when they welcome Roger Williams University for a meet that begins at 1:00 p.m.  The Owls have breezed past Colby-Sawyer College, St. Michael's College and Norwich so far this season.
