Four Owls Earn LEC Weekly Honors

'KEENE, N.H. 4/7/03– Several Keene State College players were recipients of weekly Little East Conference honors announced on Monday.


Ben Bradly was named men's lacrosse player of the week.  Bradley, a sophomore attack player from South Hadley, MA., erupted for 13 points on 11 goals and two assists to lead Keene State to a pair of one-sided wins last week. He tallied seven goals and an assist in the 21-6 win over Green Mountain, and added four goals and an assist in the 19-3 decision over Curry. Bradley leads the Owls with 19 goals.


Ryan Kohler, a freshman pitcher from Alstead, N.H., was selected baseball rookie of the week.  The first-year hurler went six strong innings to earn his first college win in the 1-0 triumph over Springfield College.  He fanned seven, issued a pair of walks, and scattered five hits.


Colleen Murphy and Nicole Lemire were named women's lacrosse rookie and defensive players of the week.  Murphy, who earned the honor for the second straight week, had 10 points on five goals and five assists as Keene State netted 22 goals in a shutout win over Salem State.  The freshman attack player from Mansfield, MA., is tied for the LEC lead in scoring with 20 goals, 12 assists, and 32 points.   Lemire, a junior defender from New Milford, CT, collected a pair of ground balls, and forced two turnovers to lead a KSC defensive effort, which blanked Salem State 22-0.  She also added a single goal to the Owls' scoring total.
