At MCC: Hit .328 with two homers, 38 runs scored and 30 RBI as sophomore at MCC in 2009. ...had 45 hits, including 13 doubles and 12 stolen bases in 14 attempts... made just two errors in 109 chances (.982), splitting time between left field and first base for the 28-19 Cougars... Burgio's star shined on the big stage when he hit .455 with a homerun and eight RBI in three games at the 2009 National Junior College Athletic Association World Series in Tyler, Texas... was a second team All-New England selection as a sophomore and member of MCC's NJCAA Region 21 Championship teams in both 2008 and 2009...Hit .333 with a pair of homeruns and 11 RBI for the NJCAA Region XXI Division III Champions in 2008...did not make an error in 18 games (16 starts) and stole seven bases in as many attempts for the 29-13-2 Cougars...his solo home run March 10, 2009 was the difference in MCC' s opening day win over ECSU's sub-varsity.
