Owls' Field Hockey Predicted To Finish Second In LEC Preseason Poll

PAWTUCKET, R.I.--The five time defending Little East Conference tournament champion Keene State College field hockey team was picked to finish second in the Little East Conference, according to a poll of the league's coaches announced today.

The Owls received 133 points and five first place votes, narrowly finishing behind 2017 regular season champion Worcester State University, which received 138 points and seven first place votes.  Plymouth State received the other first place vote but was third overall with 114 points and tournament runner-up Westfield State was fourth with 100 points.

Keene State returns 15 players, including reigning LEC Rookie of the Year and Tournament Most Outstanding Player, sophomore Nina Bruno (23-7-53), senior Julia Babbitt (9-11-29), junior All-LEC second teamer Ally McCall (4-6-14), senior Erica Stauffer (6-1-13), junior Erica Chareth (4-2-10), and junior Kelsey Roberts (4-2-10).   The Owls also return sophomore goalie Rachel Loseby (12-4, 1.45 GAA, .818 save percentage), a starter in 16 games last year.

KSC opens the season on September 1, hosting the University of New England at 1:30 p.m.
