KEENE, N.H.--The 2019 Keene State College field hockey schedule is now online, boasting a chance to see the six-time defending Little East Conference tournament champion Owls at home 10 times this season.
The Owls make their home debut against Lasell College on September 4, followed by a September 7 matchup against Springfield College. The Owls will be away from home for the next two weeks, playing UMass Dartmouth on September 21 and the rematch of last season's LEC title game against Castleton University on September 25.
October sees the Owls play at home five times, including a matchup against Western Connecticut State on October 5, followed by a home date a week later against Bridgewater State on October 12. Fitchburg State comes to Keene on October 15, after which comes matchups against Worcester State on October 23 and 2018 NCAA tournament participant Smith College on October 30. The regular season ends on November 2 against Babson College.
The season begins for Keene State on August 31 as they make the trip to Biddeford, Maine to face the University of New England. Keene State heads to the Pioneer Valley section of Western Massachusetts twice in September, heading to Amherst College on September 11 and Westfield State on September 14. A short trip to Colby-Sawyer College is slated for September 17, followed by a non-conference game at Trinity College (CT) on September 19 and end the month against Eastern Connecticut State on September 28.
KSC hits the road four times in October, beginning with a visit to Plymouth State on October 1, as well as LEC games against Salem State (October 9), Southern Maine (October 19), and Framingham State (October 26).
As in previous years, the top eight teams will qualify. This year, the tournament returns to a Tuesday/Thursday/Saturday format, with the highest seeds hosting each a game in each round of the quarterfinals and semifinals, with the highest remaining seed to host the final. The quarterfinals are set for Tuesday, November 5, with the semifinals on Thursday, November 7, and the final on Saturday, November 9.
