Fields Set for LEC Lacrosse Tournament

'KEENE, N.H. 5/2/05 - The fields are now set for the Little East Conference men's and women's lacrosse tournaments.


The fourth seed in the tournament, the Keene State women's team (7-7, 3-3 LEC) will host fifth seed Southern Maine (4-8, 2-4 LEC) in a first round game on Tuesday (4p.m.) at Owl Athletic Complex.  Third seed Western Conn. (5-9, 3-3 LEC) will host six seed UMass-Dartmouth (7-6, 2-4 LEC) in the other quarterfinal match up.  Top seed and three-time defending champ Plymouth State (9-4, 6-0 LEC) and second seed Eastern Conn. (10-6, 5-1 LEC) will both receive first round byes.


The Owls, who defeated the Huskies 12-7 earlier this season, own a 5-1 series advantage against USM.  The winner of the KSC/USM game will travel to Plymouth on Thursday to face PSU.


The top seed in the LEC Tournament for the first time, the Keene State men's team (8-4, 6-0 LEC) will get an opening round bye along with second seed Eastern Conn. (8-5, 5-1 LEC).


In quarterfinal games, third seed Western Conn. (10-3, 4-2 LEC) will host six seed UMass-Dartmouth (4-10, 1-5 LEC) and fourth seed Plymouth State (7-6, 3-3 LEC) hosts fifth seed UMass-Boston (9-5, 2-4 LEC).


KSC will play the winner of the PSU/UMB game on Thursday (3:30 p.m.) at Owl Athletic Complex.
