KEENE, N.H. 5/12/11 – Keene State junior Griffin Meehan (Simsbury, Conn.) has been named to the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) Division III All-New England team.
A second-team selection, Meehan was the region’s top scorer, having found the back of the net 63 times. Becoming the Owls' career leader in goals (169) and points (253) this season, he is one of the nation's top offensive threats, ranked third in goals both per game (3.81) and points per game (5.38). A prolific scorer, Meehan had multiple goals in 14 of the Owls’ 17 games this season. He scored seven goals and collected 10 points in back-to-back games against Salem State and Western Connecticut to match his career high in each category. Meehan also handed out five helpers against Wheaton (Mass.) to match his previous career best.
Capturing the Little East Championship and a NCAA berth, Keene State concluded its season with a 14-3 record.
