RPI did level things just before the break, as Finn scored his second of the game with one second remaining in the first half.  The Engineers then began to pull away in the second half, as Hall scored twice and McNeally once in a 3-0 third quarter, and McNeally netted his third of the game 50 seconds into the fourth quarter for an 8-4 lead.

The teams then traded goals down the stretch, as Reilly scored at 11:01, countered by RPI's Matt Hall at 10:19.  McKelvie's goal at 5:06 pulled KSC within 9-6, but the Owls could not get closer, and John Phillips (Oswego, N.Y.) sealed the win for RPI with a goal with 55 seconds remaining.

Alex Sharp (Winchester, Mass.) made 10 saves in the KSC net, while RPI counterpart Alex Castronovo (Garden City, N.Y.) made 15, as the Owls were outshot 42-33.
