PERRY, N.Y. - Two members of the Keene State College men's lacrosse team were honored by the United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (USILA) it was announced this week. Junior attack Tyler McKelvie was named Honorable Mention All-American, while senior midfielder Ryan Hart was recognized as a Scholar All-American.
The award is yet another for McKelvie, who was named the Little East Conference Offensive Player of the Year, First Team All-Conference and All-New England Team by the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA). McKelvie finished the season with a team-high 63 goals and added 16 assists for 79 points, while collecting 44 ground balls and causing eight turnovers.
Hart, meanwhile, garnered Little East Conference First Team honors as well as being named to the NEILA First Team and Academic All-New England Team. The senior midfielder, a Physical Educaton major, boasts a 3.97 GPA in the classroom, while being an integral part of the Keene State midfield. Hart has tallied 70 points, good for third on the team, while scoring 36 goals and registering 34 assists. For his career, Hart has 103 goals ad 96 assists for a total of 199 points to go with 137 ground balls and 23 caused turnovers.
McKelvie and Hart led the Owls to their sixth LEC tournament championship and NCAA bid this past season.
