Hickman and Garneau Earn Weekly LEC Honors

'KEENE, N.H. 9/22/03-  Keene State College's Justin Hickman was named men's soccer offensive player of the week and Nichole Garneau was selected field hockey rookie of the week by the Little East Conference on Monday.

 

Hickman, a senior back, complimented his strong defensive play with a pair of outstanding offensive contests last week.  The Mont Vernon, N.H. native tallied four goals and added an assist for nine points to lead KSC to a 2-0 week.  He netted a pair of goals, including the game-winner, and added an assist in a 4-2 win over Mass College, and contributed two goals in the 12-1 conference victory over UMass-Boston.

 

A freshman from Twin Mountain, N.H., Garneau recorded nine points on five goals and an assist to help lead Keene State to a pair of wins last week.  The first-year forward had two goals and an assist in a 7-1 win against RPI, and added another two goals in the 4-0 conference win over Fitchburg State.

 

The Keene State men's soccer team (5-3) hosts Westfield State on Wednesday (7 p.m.). The Owl field hockey team (3-2) is at Framingham State (4 p.m.) on Tuesday.
