Mason and Wagner Earn LEC Soccer Honors

'KEENE, N.H. 10/13/03 - A pair of Keene State College women's soccer players were recipients of Little East Conference weekly honors.  Michelle Mason was named defensive player of the week and Tara Wagner was selected  rookie of the week for the second week in a row.

 

Mason, a junior goalie from Fairport, N.Y., extended the Owl's string of shutouts to four games by blanking Worcester State (1-0) and rival Plymouth State (3-0) last week.  Over the last eight games, KSC has blanked six foes and allowed only four goals.  Mason is the team's top goalie with a 0.82 GAA and six shutouts.

  

Wagner, a freshman midfielder from Avon, Conn., set up three goals to help the Owl's sweep two road contests.  She set up the lone goal in the 1-0 win over Worcester State, and added a pair of assists in the 3-0 victory at Plymouth State last Saturday.  Wagner has a team-leading eight assists. 

 

Keene State (9-3-1, 3-0-1 LEC) hosts nationally ranked Williams College on Tuesday (7 p.m.).
