COLCHESTER, Vt.--Kyle Shadeck , Samantha Dickinson, and Katie Brandeberry continued their scorching starts to the season by each winning four events in a dual meet against NCAA Division II Saint Michael's College on Saturday at the Tarrant Recreation Center. Both Owl teams posted wins, with the men winning 158-130, and the women topping the Knights 184-103.
Shadeck kicked off the meet by helping the Owls win the 400 medley relay, along with Zachary Payne, Patrick Doyle, and Jacob Peters. The Owls' junior standout also won the 100 breaststroke in 1:03.56, the 200 fly in 2:06.71, and the 100 fly in 53.81.
Payne added a win in the 100 backstroke, in 55.56, touching in just .16 seconds ahead of SMC's Connor Hopkins. Payne also won the 200 breaststroke in 2:22.18.
Brandeberry took home first place in the 200 freestyle, with a win of over three seconds in 2:03.62, and also won the 100 freestyle with a time of 57.39. She kept adding wins, taking home the 200 IM in 2:18.73, and swam the anchor leg of the winning 200 free relay, following legs from Kristyn Simoneau, Samantha Dickinson, and Molly O'Connor.
In addition to her part in the 200 free relay, Dickinson added three more wins, taking the 100 backstroke in 1:03.21, the 50 freestyle in 26.46, and the 200 backstroke in 2:20.24. Madison Pechlis picked up a win in the 100 breaststroke in 1:11.68, and Sophie Hayes won the 200 fly in 2:20.40, as well as the 100 fly in 1:03.48.
Jessica Massota won both sets of 1-meter dives, scoring 128.10 on the first and 178.20 on the second.
