Deep Dive: 2019 Women's Soccer Schedule

KEENE, N.H.--The 2019 Keene State women's soccer schedule is now available, including 10 home contests for the Owls.  Keene State will face off against a pair of NCAA tournament teams from a year ago.

Home Games

The Owls' home opener is on September 7 against Lasell College, followed by a first ever meeting against Emmanuel College on September 7.   Keene State will not play at home for the next 25 days, not returning to Owl Athletic Complex until October 2, when they host Salve Regina.

That kicks off a string of five straight home games, which also include defending LEC tournament champion Western Connecticut State (October 5), Framingham State (October 9), and Eastern Connecticut State (October 12).  Other home games in October are: UMass Dartmouth (October 19), Salem Sate (October 22), and Sage (October 29), before ending the regular season against Southern Maine on November 2.

Road Games

The Owls begin the season on August 31 on the road against Western New England, and are away from home five times in September.  The Owls open Little East Conference play against Castleton on September 14, before a trip to Westfield State, a participant in last season's NCAA tournament, on September 18.   KSC continues on the road against Rhode Island College (September 21), Worcester State (September 24), and Bridgewater State (September 26).

KSC hits the road just twice in October, heading to longtime rival Plymouth State on October 16, and at UMass Boston on Otcober 26.

Six teams qualify, with the top two seeds receiving byes into the semifinals.    Quarterfinal matchups will be hosted by the No. 3 and No. 4 seeds on Tuesday, November 5.   The advancing teams will head to the semifinals, hosted by the top two seeds on Thursday, November 7.   The highest remaining seed will host the final on Saturday, November 9, where the winner will receive the LEC's automatic bid to the NCAA tournament.  The first and second rounds will be on November 16-17 at campus sites throughout the country.
