Set to begin his seventh season as the head of the Owls men’s and women’s swim program, Fabian served as the head coach of the USA Women’s Open Water national swim team this summer.

    NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. –The Little East Conference office handed out its 2010-11 women’s swimming and diving major awards this afternoon after a vote by the conference coaches. Keene State College earned two of the six awards, while Bridgewater State University, University of Massachusetts Dartmouth, Western Connecticut State University, and Westfield State University were each represented.

Returning to Keene after competing at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships in Knoxville, Tenn., several members of the Keene State swim team, along with Coach Jack Fabian, had a chance meeting with Dan Caron, a 1979 KSC grad, at the airport in Detroit.

    KNOXVILLE, TENN. 2/26/11 – The last time the Keene State men’s swim team had an All-American in an individual event Drew Ledwith wasn’t even in born. You have to go all the way back to 1976 when Ron Demers finished ninth in the breast stroke at the Division II Championships to find the last Owl to earn the honor.

Making her second straight trip to the nationals, sophomore Kaila Umbarger (Chelmsford, Mass.) competed like a veteran, racing to All-American in the 50 freestyle and swimming the anchor leg on the Owls’ All-American 200 medley relay in the first day of competition at the NCAA Division III Swimming and Diving Championships at the Jones Aquatic Center on the campus of the University of Tennessee.

    NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. 3/9/11– Twenty-one Keene State College winter student-athletes were honored this afternoon when the 2010-11 Little East Conference All-Academic Teams were announced by the conference office. The Little East sponsored five winter sports—men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s indoor track and field, and women’s swimming and diving—during the 2010-11 academic year.

The Keene State men defeated Conn. College 166-100 to finish its season with a perfect 5-0 record while the Owl women (2-6) lost to the Camels 168-120 on Senior Day.

    KEENE, N.H. 1/22/11 – Just as advertised, Keene State College and Bentley University hooked up in a highly-competitive dual meet at Spaulding Gym pool on Saturday afternoon. And when the goggles were finally removed, the Keene State men (4-0) had a satisfying 164-117 and victory while the Owl women (2-5) fought to the end before falling to the Falcons 156-144.
