'KEENE, N.H. 4/17/03 –   Beth Brown (Norwich, CT) and Katie Sheriden (West Sayville, N.Y.) had five goals each to lead Plymouth State College to a 16-7 Little East Conference women's lacrosse victory over host Keene State College on Thursday.

Plymouth State (6-3, 3-0) maintains its lead in the LEC while Keene State (7-2, 2-1 LEC) had its six game winning streak snapped and lost its first conference game of the season.

Colleen Murphy (Mansfield, MA.) had three goals and two assists and Natalie Kent (Billerica, MA.) finished with two goals to lead the Owls.  Kristal Lundegaard (Babylon, N.Y.) and Lauren Saunders (Fremont, N.H.) also scored for KSC.

Michelle Norton (Sandwich, MA.) also added two goals and three assists for PSC.

Plymouth State scored the first four goals of the game.  Trailing 9-5 at halftime, the Owls got to with three (9-6) early in the second half before PSC tallied the next five goals.

Jamie Litch (Addison, Vt.) had 10 saves for KSC while Carmen Villaneuva (E. Schodack, N.Y.) had 11 saves for the Panthers.

KSC plays at Western CT on Saturday (12 p.m.).
