'KEENE, N.H 4/29/03 – Kristal Lundegaard (Babylon,
N.Y.) had six goals and an assist and Colleen Murphy (Mansfield,
Mass.) finished with three goals and four assists to lead the Keene
State College women's lacrosse team to a 18-3 victory over Southern
Maine in a Little Conference Tournament quarterfinal game played
Tuesday in Keene.
Seeded fourth, Keene State (9-6) advances to the semifinals and
will play at top seed Plymouth State on Friday (3 p.m.). The
winner of the #6 UMass-Dartmouth/#4 Western Conn. game will take on
second Eastern Conn. in the other semifinal contest.
Keene State, which scored just 35 seconds into the game, jumped
out to a quick 5-0 lead on the way to building up a 13-2 halftime
advantage.
Natalie Kent (Billerica, Mass.) had three goals and an
assist and Liz Maddocks (Essex, Vt.) added a pair of goals for KSC.
Laura Jurkowski (East Longmeadow, Mass.), Emily Kirkland
(Damariscotta, Me.), and Amanda Loomis (Poultney, Vt.) scored for
USM, which concludes its season with a 4-11 record.
Jamie Litch (Addison, Vt.) who made five saves and Mandy Gray
(Sharon, Mass.) with three saves, each played a half in goal for
KSC. Andrea Guerrette (Fairfield, Me.) finished with 13 saves
for the Huskies.
Keene State lost to Eastern Conn. (14-4) in last year's
semifinals.
