'KEENE, N.H. 4/8/03 – Colleen Murphy
(Mansfield, MA.) had four goals and three assists to lead the Keene
State College women's lacrosse team to a 14-8 non-conference
victory over Colby-Sawyer College in Keene on Tuesday.
Murphy has a team-leading 24 goals and 15 assists this season.
It was the fourth straight win for KSC (5-1). Colby-Sawyer drops
to 2-2.
Kristal Lundegaard (Babylon, N.Y.), Liz Maddocks (Essex, Vt.)
and Lauren Saunders (Fremont, N.H.) added three goals each for the
Owls.
Megan Geer (Peterborough, N.H.) led the Chargers with four
goals.
The Owls scored the last two goals of the first half to take a
7-4 lead at the break. Colby-Sawyer closed the deficit to
11-7 on an unassisted goal by Alicia Spolidoro (Duxbury, MA.) KSC
scored the next three goals of the match.
Jamie Litch (Addison, Vt.), who had a strong game in goal,
finished with nine saves for KSC. Sarah Cook (Lewiston, Me.)
made 13 saves for CSC.
Erin Mehner (Stamford, CT) finished with five ground ball
controls, four draw controls, and three caused turnovers.
Keene State hosts Franklin Pierce on Thursday (4 p.m.).
