'KEENE, N.H.4/3/04- Sophomore attacker Kristal Lundegaard
(Babylon, N.Y.) netted four goals to lead the Keene State College
women's lacrosse team to a 11-4 Little East Conference victory over
UMass-Dartmouth in Keene on Saturday.
It was the third straight win for KSC (5-2, 1-0 LEC) while UMD
(3-2, 0-1 LEC) had its three game winning streak snapped.
Trailing 2-1, Keene State scored three goals in the final
three-and-a half minutes of the first half to take a 4-2 lead at
the break. Michelle Mason (Fairport, N.Y.), who finished with three
goals, scored the go-ahead goal for KSC 28:59 mark on a nice pass
form Natalie Kent (Billerica, Mass.).
Goals by Colleen Murphy (Mansfield, Mass.) and Mason put KSC up
6-2 early in the second half.
UMD closed the deficit to 7-4 on a goal by Katelyn Eliiot
(Lowell, Mass.). But the Owls answered with the next four goals to
notch their first LEC win of the season.
Jamie Litch (Addison, Vt.) had 12 saves for KSC. Liz
Holland (Quincy, Mass.) stopped 19 shots for the Corsairs.
KSC outshot UMD 41-22.
KSC plays at Curry College on Monday (4 p.m.).
