'KEENE, N.H. 4/14/05 - The Plymouth State University women's
lacrosse team remained undefeated in the Little East Conference
with a 13-5 victory over rival Keene State College at Owl Athletic
Complex on Thursday.
PSU improves to 4-2 (3-0 LEC) while KSC (5-4, 2-1 LEC) saw its
three game winning streak come to an end.
Nicole Evans (Scituate, Mass.) and Kelsey McDonald (Oak Bluffs,
Mass.), led a balanced Panther offense with two goals and two
assists each. Annie Pinault (Framingham, Mass.), Bethany Brown
(Norwich, Conn.), Caitlyn Irving (Avon, Conn.), and Amanda
Spadafora (Saratoga Springs, N.Y.) also netted a pair of goals.
Michelle Mason (Fairport, N.Y.) led KSC with two goals.
Lauren Saunders (Fremont, N.H.), Stephanie Georgevits (Concord,
N.H.) and Kristal Lundegaard (Babylon, N.Y.) added single
goals for the Owls.
After Georgevits opened the game with a goal, PSC scored the
next six goals to pull away from the Owls. The Panthers led
8-2 at halftime.
Mandy Gray (Sharon, Mass.) made eight saves for KSC. Suzie
Lilakos (Stratham, N.H.) with six saves and Kristen Elliot (Exeter,
N.H.) with seven saves both saw time in goal for PSU.
Keene State has yet to beat PSU in nine meetings between the two
teams.
With a win, KSC would've clinched the President's Trophy. The
trophy, is given to the program that posts the most regular season
head-to-head victories between the two schools. The Owls hold
a 7-5 advantage with a softball doubleheader and baseball game to
be played.
