'KEENE, N.H. 4/19/05 - Michelle Mason (Fairport, N.Y.) had five
goals and five assists to lead Keene State College to a 12-10
come-from-behind victory over Colby-Sawyer College in a
non-conference women's lacrosse game played Tuesday at Owl Athletic
Complex.
Trailing 9-6 early in the second half, the Owls scored six
unanswered goals to take a 12-9 lead. Mason scored an
unassisted goal to tie the game 9-9 and set up the go-ahead goal
with a shuffle pass to Kristal Lundegaard (Babylon, N.Y.).
The Chargers took a 7-4 halftime lead behind Megan Geer
(Peterborough, N.H.) who netted three first half goals.
Lanaya Nelson (Chester, Conn. had three goals, Lundegaard added
two goals, and Lauren Saunders (Fremont, N.H.) and Steph Georgevits
(Concord, N.H.) had single goals for KSC. Tara Stewart
(Londonderry, N.H.) and Kristen Scott (Underhill, Vt.) had two
goals each and Sarah McRoberts (Bourne, Mass.) and Becky
Schaffer (Lakeland, Fla.) had single goals for the Chargers.
Mandy Gray (Sharon, Mass.), who had eight saves, made several
key stops late in the second half to keep the Owls (6-5) in the
game. Sarah Cook (Lewiston Me.) finished with 12 saves for the
Chargers (8-5).
Keene State travels to Eastern Conn. on Saturday (11 a.m.) for a
key Little East Conference game.
