'NORTH DARTMOUTH, MASS. 4/2/05 - Lauren Saunders (Fremont,
N.H.) scored five goals to lead the Keene State College women's
lacrosse team to a 12-9 Little East Conference victory over
UMass-Dartmouth on Saturday.
It was the second win in a row for the Owls (4-3, 1-0 LEC) while
UMD falls to 0-3 (0-1 LEC).
Keene State took a 7-5 halftime lead and held off the Corsairs
for the victory. Saunders, who scored three of her goals in
the second half, now has 14 goals on the season.
Michelle Mason had three goals, Christina Honeycutt (Weare,
N.H.) and Alexandra Manzin (Avon, Conn.) each netted two goals to
account for the Owls' offense. Kristal Lundegaard (Babylon,
N.Y.) also had four assists.
Mandy Gray (Sharon, Mass.) had a strong game in goal with 11
saves.
Keene State is off until next Saturday when they travel to R.I.
College (1 p.m.).
